This course has been designed to teach you how to lead a chair-based exercise class. It helps to improve the general fitness of people recovering from injury or frailer, older individuals.
There is no formal prerequisites and no entry requirements but, it is expected that candidates have either experience of working with individuals recovering from injury, frailer, older people or, have knowledge or understanding in the delivery of exercise programmes.
Format: 1 day
Certification: Amac certificate in Chair-Based Exercise (CPD)
Entry Requirement: Over 16

Course Content
You will learn:
- The main physiological changes that occur to the body systems as a result of the ageing process
- Screening tests that can be used to determine readiness to exercise for older people
- The referral routes available for older people unable to exercise
- How to deliver a safe and effective prescribed programme of chair-based exercises to the frailer older person
